Living in Los Angeles for a while…

Posted on: February 2, 2009

I moved back to Los Angeles yesterday after many years away.  With a keyboard in my lap and a camera in my hand…I hope to capture a small fragment of what makes this wonderful  area such a great place to live.  I am not in Pacific Palisades…or in the Hollywood Hills high above the city with a variety of expensive cars in the drive.  I do however have a view…and hindsight that will hopefully provide a working knowledge relative to locations and places to visit once more.  As I wandered through the streets today…I found myself  greeted by friendly faces you would not give a second glance if driving past.  My temporary neighborhood is a real mix of ethnicity and international roots.  I expect a fair number of  passages to be written at the beach …dinners shared with friends…and family outings.  Two things are nearly inevitable.  I will  get in shape and become tanned…(as once I have a parking spot I am not likely to chance losing it for the joy driving my car).  And I will get a lot of writing done as there is no television, no microwave and few amenities to distract me.  I  walked all around town today.  I will share details of that experience at another place in time.  For now…just picture perfect blue skies (hidden by thick layers of smog unless you are at the beach) and temperatures that are ideal for summer anywhere… except it is not summer…and I for one am going to love every moment  of my unseasonal sunshine !!!
